This structure was built to house free poetry. I don't know who does stuff like this, but I love it. Ballard is my true Seattle love, but Wallingford is growing on me too.
Anna, Mei Li, and I had a Shining night where we watched the movie and discussed the book, so the next morning it didn't surprise me when this protruding hedge arm caught my eye on the way to the bus. Sure, it looks innocent now, but it is just waiting for the right moment to scratch you up!
A few years ago Mei Li and I were waiting for a table to open up at the Cheesecake Factory, so we used that time to do a photo scavenger hunt for Nutcrackers around the city. These guys always bring back memories of that night for me.
I visited one of our housing projects on lunch today after Sarah described the fun courtyard set-up and Ian mentioned a cool display involving old keys. But I really liked this brick wall and the sunlight on this plant. It was a satisfying lunch time activity.
Jessi and Rain engaged in a very exciting Pokemon battle at our holiday party. Jessi kind of looks like an illusion and Rain looks like he has a black eye. I think that means Jessi won.
An awesome local art display that I spotted in the alley behind Elliot Bay Books. One of the artists (or at least an assistant, he said he helped put it together) was there taking photos also.
What a contrast from yesterday morning. Since it was so rainy and wet I broke down and used an umbrella, which makes photo-taking in the rain much easier and safer for my camera. So maybe I need to stop being an umbrella-hater.
What a beautiful fall morning! I started going to a new bus stop which gives me more photo opportunities, such as this colorful tree in front of a cute elementary school. The schools in Seattle are so much cooler-looking than the ones in Marysville.
I really love antique shops. All the displays sorted by color or material or purpose or just pretty things that look nice next to each other - love it.
I wish the tattoo sign would come out better in my photos because I walk past it pretty much every day and it is very cool, but I will just have to settle for this.
When I finally visited the Seattle Public Library after driving by and imagining how amazing it must be inside when I was younger, I was a little disappointed. But then I realized it just needs to be viewed in black and white.
